Dr.D.K.Sriram, is the Medical Director of Hindu Mission Hospital, a 220 bed, multi speciality, tertiary care, charitable hospital and medical institution. He is a Diabetologist and Endocrinologist, having obtained
• MBBS from India (Dr.MGR Medical University, Chennai)
• MRCP (UK)
• MSc (Diabetes) Warwick University (UK)
• MRCP Endocrinology and Diabetes (UK).
He is also a consultant Diabetologist, at the Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai.
He has lived and worked overseas in the US and in the United Kingdom for over 17 years in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology.
He has extensive research experience including research at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, as a Visiting Scientist as well as at Warwick, UK, the foremost University for diabetes care and research in the UK.
He also trains junior doctors taking speciality and higher certification examinations, having been a faculty member for the formal teaching courses for MRCP examinations itself, in the UK.
He has set up the Diabetes Unit at the Hindu Mission Hospital, complete with Diabetic retinopathy management, Diabetes foot care and Gestational Diabetes management along with a Lipid clinic and Weight management clinic.
He is a sought after speaker, both in the UK and in India and is regularly invited to participate as a panelist and moderator in seminars involving the latest advances in diabetes care around the world.
He decided to relocate to India in 2012, in order to utilize his knowledge and skillset in Diabetology for India, as India and especially Chennai has one of the highest incidence of diabetes.
Since his return to India, taking charge as Medical Director of Hindu Mission Hospital, Tambaram Chennai, he has been working to medically meet the changing demographic needs of the local community.
Besides being on the board of Bharath Gyan, Dr.D.K.Sriram also advices on the board of Thirumalai Charity Trust, Ranipet, working in 315 villages in the Vellore district, providing services in Community Healthcare, Women Empowerment, Disability, De-addiction and Village Development.
